Rare and powerful. Special enough to attract the attention of the king. Joy has been promised to the king of the vampires for as long as she can remember, and she wants nothing to do with him. She wants to find love, not be paired with someone because of her parentage. King Frederick has ignored her existence, until now. As her fiftieth birthday approaches, he sends the darkly delicious Sam to escort her to the bonding ceremony, which attracts unwanted attention. Will Joy be able to fight her growing affections for Sam and keep her freedom? book 2: Married to the Vampire King Joy's life has become one giant mess. She survived being staked, not once, but twice! With the woman behind the attacks still at large Joy isn't sure who she can trust. And to make matters worse, her marriage to the king just got moved up! The threat to Joy's life still looms in the background while she tries to adjust to her new life in the palace. Will Joy be able to trust Sam with her life and her heart? Book 3: Mated to the Vampire King Stake me once, shame on you. Stake me twice, shame on me. Joy has had enough! It's time to fight back. If only she could get away from her protection detail. Frannie is still on the loose, so it's only a matter of time before she makes another attempt on Joy's life, but Joy intends to strike first. Joy with the help of her best friend, Lexi, and Lexi's brother, Jace, develops a plan that will stop Frannie for good. The trouble with plans is that they often go awry. Like when your husband, who happens to be the king, forbids you to leave the house while he deals with the problem on his own. Will Joy and her shifter friends be able to outwit Sam and put a stop to Frannie's evil plan to rule the vampire kingdom?

Book excerpt: This book contains the full proceedings of the 2015 Academy of Marketing Science Annual Conference held in Denver, Colorado. Marketing has become ubiquitous: it doesn’t matter who you are, where you are or what you are doing, you cannot escape it. In these times of instantaneous news, information and entertainment, everyone is exposed to messages from the moment they awake until the minute they drift off to sleep. America spends the most money in the world on advertising and other marketing communication. So, it could be said that marketing is America’s pastime, as much so as the classics: baseball, hot dogs, and apple pie. Under the theme of “ Celebrating America’s Pastimes: Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie and Marketing”, this volume discusses all of the good things that marketing can do. Showcasing research from academics, scholars and practitioners from around the world, this volume provides insight and strategies that will help marketers move forward and focus on the positive that marketing can provide to consumers, stakeholders and society. Founded in 1971, the Academy of Marketing Science is an international organization dedicated to promoting timely explorations of phenomena related to the science of marketing in theory, research, and practice. Among its services to members and the community at large, the Academy offers conferences, congresses and symposia that attract delegates from around the world. Presentations from these events are published in this Proceedings series, which offers a comprehensive archive of volumes reflecting the evolution of the field. Volumes deliver cutting-edge research and insights, complimenting the Academy’s flagship journals, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science (JAMS) and AMS Review. Volumes are edited by leading scholars and practitioners across a wide range of subject areas in marketing science.

Flat Rank Two Vector Bundles on Genus Two Curves

Publisher : American Mathematical Soc.

Pages : 103 pages
Rating Book: 4.7/5 (47 users)

Download or read book Flat Rank Two Vector Bundles on Genus Two Curves written by Viktoria Heu and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2019-06-10 with total page 103 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authors study the moduli space of trace-free irreducible rank 2 connections over a curve of genus 2 and the forgetful map towards the moduli space of underlying vector bundles (including unstable bundles), for which they compute a natural Lagrangian rational section. As a particularity of the genus case, connections as above are invariant under the hyperelliptic involution: they descend as rank logarithmic connections over the Riemann sphere. The authors establish explicit links between the well-known moduli space of the underlying parabolic bundles with the classical approaches by Narasimhan-Ramanan, Tyurin and Bertram. This allows the authors to explain a certain number of geometric phenomena in the considered moduli spaces such as the classical -configuration of the Kummer surface. The authors also recover a Poincaré family due to Bolognesi on a degree 2 cover of the Narasimhan-Ramanan moduli space. They explicitly compute the Hitchin integrable system on the moduli space of Higgs bundles and compare the Hitchin Hamiltonians with those found by van Geemen-Previato. They explicitly describe the isomonodromic foliation in the moduli space of vector bundles with -connection over curves of genus 2 and prove the transversality of the induced flow with the locus of unstable bundles.

Book excerpt: "The definition of psychotic spectrum disorders such as schizophrenia has evolved with changing nosogy and scientific advancements over the last 200 years. Understanding both the historical evolution of the concept as well as recent changes reflected in the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-5) as well as the National Institute of Health's (NIH) Research Domain Criteria (RDOC) framework are critical for informing current efforts to further update and refine the nosology of psychotic spectrum disorders. This chapter offers an overview of past classification schemes, current standards, and novel approaches to further improve the validity of these definitions through use of biomarkers, reverse nosologies, and digital phenotyping tools like smartphones and sensors"--

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These Proceedings comprise the majority of the scientific contributions that were presented at the VIIth International Congress on Photosynthesis. The Congress was held August 10-15 1986 in Providence, Rhode Island, USA on the campus of Brown University, and was the first in the series to be held on the North American continent. Despite the greater average travel distances involved the Congress was attended by over 1000 active participants of whom 25% were registered students. This was gratifying and indicated that photosynthesis will be weIl served by excellent young scientists in the future. As was the case for the VIth International Congress held in Brussels, articles for these Proceedings were delivered camera ready to expedite rapid publication. In editing the volumes it was interesting to re fleet on the impact that the recent advances in structure and molecular biology had in this Congress. It is clear that cognizance of structure and molecular genetics will be even more necessary in the design of experiments and the direction of future research.
